We got into the museum and learnt all about the potato and where it came from, the types of potatoes, the potatoe famish in Ireland and how people harvest the potatoes.

A chip off the old potato
The second story of the museum is about the chip. It tells you how chips were first discovered, the Belgiums had cut the potatoes long and thin like the type of fish the caught called friets. They even tell you how they became French fries, the Belgium soldiers offered some to the American soldiers and the Americans thought that the Belgium soldiers were French hence French fries. They even had facts about fries being good for you (sadly I think they might be a bit biased).

We then went to the chocolate story for our desert museum. To tell you right now it was fairly crap. It was basically just old chocolate cups and how it got from the Aztecs to Europe. If you wanted to learn about chocolate defiantly go to York's sweetest story.
Well the chip museum was different but it wasn't the greatest thing I've ever done.

Please tell me you actually went into the centre of historic city of Brugge? The only tower I can remember was on the edge of the walled part. It has beautiful old buildings and cobbled streets.
ReplyDeleteHow is the 'wrong side of road' going? What car are you driving this time?
The commentary is great. First thing I check each day is to see if there is a new installment. Cold and foggy in Ballarat today so enjoy your extra summer team.
We had parked very closely to the square with the intention of climbing the tower (as in the movie) before we to sidetracked by the museum. Much to my disappointment as we headed towards the square it started bucketing down so I only got the briefest view before bailing out ack to the car.
