Pizza in Pisa

We got to our campsite and immediately realised the heat was way more intense in Italy so Luke, Jessie and I went to the pool while Mum and Dad went to the bank. At the pool we realised that you needed a swimming cap that cost €2.50 to get in the pool so we had to wait for an hour for Mum and Dad to get back because we didn't have any money on us. But it was much worth the wait because the pool was amazingly refreshing.

We got out of the pool and went in to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa. When you get close to the tower it's full of people trying to sell you cheap knock off sunglasses, bags, hats and toys. One man came up to Jessie and told her "look genuine ray band sunnys only €2" personally I think he might be bending the truth... just a little.

Your probably think "yes, yes, yes, that's all good and well but we want the tower" so just calm down because here it is.

And of course we had to do the classic holding up the tower.

After holding up the tower we had to go have some pizza in Pisa. We walked down the main street coming from the Tower and we saw all the pizza joints with their old men outside trying to call you in and get you a seat. We finally stopped at a very spacious classical Italian restaurant. We ordered four pizzas including a wurstel (pronounced vurtsel) pizza which tastes a lot like cabana and was very nice.

During dinner we even learnt some Italian from our waiters: ciao- hello/good bye, bonjourno- good morning, graci- thank you, prego- your welcome, latte- milk(long story) and toiletten- toilet. After dinner we had to try some gelato, so Dad got a cappuccino while we got some gelati.

I have to say that this evening was the best cultural experience that I have had yet and I hope that it will be as good as this where ever we go.
