Location, location, location

Not only has Switzerland won our title of most picturesque country ( previously we had given this to Scotland) but it has also won the title of most expensive. Should have guessed when we changed our Euros for Swiss Francs (CHF) and got coins for 5 francs. Any country that considers 5 dollars as loose change has to be expensive. Note: 1 CHF = A$1 approx.

Mark is still having apoplexy over the 183 CHF we paid to have dinner at the House of Fondue. For those of you who know him well you can imagine the "most expensive cheese and chocolate I have ever had" - or words to that effect!

It is not only the food that is expensive. Last night in Luzern we paid 59CHF for our camp site - which was across the road from the lake. Tonight in Geneva we are absolutely water front. Of course we have paid a princely 76CHF for the privilege of sitting with our legs dangling in the lake as we ate our dinner and sipped our wine.

Who would have thought that Switzerland, famous for its snow and Alps would be our first swimming opportunity - and yes, the water was warmer than Tassie!
