The Wests at Waterloo

After having talked with our new friends from Holland at our camping ground Dad was keen to go visit the Battle of Waterloo museum. We made our way there and lined up. We took a tour around the battle ground where Napoleon had fought. To me it was like looking at grass and hills but Mum and Dad seemed to enjoy it and understand what had happened a bit more.

I finally understood what they were trying to get across in the tour when they showed you a presentation on the way Napoleon had over come France once again and how the rest of Europe basically ganged up on Napoleon.

We climbed the stairs to see the great view from the butte du lion (the lions mount) which was built where William of Orange was wounded and is the sign of peace among Europe.

I have to say it was defiantly worth the money to see and experience. Our whole family has come away a bit more educated about Napoleon Bonaparte and the Battle of Waterloo.
