Running of the Bulls

On our travels we decided to pop into Pamplona (I never get sick of saying that: on our travels we stop in at/ pop in to/ decided to go to) to walk the 820 meters of the Running of the Bulls. We followed it around until we came to the 90 degrees turn in the course (there are lots of crashes here) and saw the Running of the Bulls Museum.

We decided to go in and look around. The first part is about how the bulls are identified by markings on its side. We found out that the last man to get gored was in 2010, it doesn't really make you feel any safer but anyway... Down stairs was the cinema about how the day progresses from when the runners are packed in the square to when they run into the stadium. But the best bit was the simulated run. You put on some virtual goggles and stand on a tread mill, when it gets to 3 you start running flat out as fast as you can for as long as you can. We found after this that nobody can run in front the bulls for the whole race ( there are 5 identified sections along the run).

We then finished walking the course along to the stadium. We saw that all the rubbish bins and poles are removable on this street. We really enjoyed Pamplona and the museum, though I'm not sure that I'll be coming for the Running of the Bulls, but you never know.
