Week of the Sun: Day 5

Today was the last race of the 'Week of the Sun'. The course was around a hill top village called Mont Saint Angelo. One of the organizers (now one of Dad's Italian friends) told us that this was the most technical course of the week.

One look at the map and the thing you would notice most was the stairs. Up and down, side to side they were everywhere but if you're an extreme, hardcore runner... like myself... you could bound two or three at a time. This is what you had to run through.

The results of the race were fairly good with Dad 3rd on his course and Mum 2nd on hers. The overall results for the week were even better! Mum came 2nd overall, I came 4th in the M13-16 and Dad was 1st in the M45!

We said good bye to the English racers and the organizers we befriended and then all of the organizers who we hadn't really talked to came up and said good bye. Even as we were walking away my rival for the week, Andrea Riminidi, came up and wished us a safe journey back to Australia. We were all very touched by the friendliness of everyone.

Now we had a 4hr drive to Ancona to catch the ferry across to Croatia.
