Cardiff Castle

This morning we went to Cardiff Castle and had a look around. It was
originally a ancient Roman camp but became an historic Wales castle.

We're ready, where is it?

As you may have guessed from some of the previous posts, the weather has been "Absolutely Awful" to quote the newspaper.

This tree blew over near us in the campground near last night.

Highlights of Bath

After all the countryside, Bath was mind blowing as it appeared in the distance.
Once again we did the 'El Cheepo' version of the tourist sites (like taking the photo of the Roman Baths through the viewing windows rather than paying £35 to get wet on a tour).

Henge's and horses.

The first icon we saw for our first day was the famous Stonehenge. We decided to do it the cheap (and quick) way by looking through the fence and not paying 5£ each to walk around the outside and get soaked. It's times like these that having a tall mother pays off as she was able to get a great shot over the fence. We then went and saw the lesser known Woodhenge. This poor cousin was free to get into and we had a lot of fun mucking around as the wood has deteriorated and been replaced by concrete markers.

Motorways and winding country lanes - In TomTom we trust!

Our first day saw us driving from Heathrow across to Wales via Bath. We started off on Motorways (Dad decided he was driving a little too cautiously when he was overtaken by a Smartcar!) but also got to experience country driving through villages and towns where the roads were so narrow that you could have wound down your car window and knocked on doors as you drove past. Dad's driving skills were put to the test as these roads are two way. We decided to set up camp at Tredgar House Country Park Campground (just East of Cardiff).

We've Arrived!

After a 1 hour flight to Melbourne, a 7 1/2 hour flight to Singapore and a 13 hour flight to London we have finally arrived. In contrast to the bright, busy and bustling Changi Airport we found Heathrow rather grey (and so was the weather outside!)

We're On Our Way

We’re packed and ready to go because today’s the day we leave for EUROPE!! Grandma Dragon has come around at 8am to pick us up and take us to the airport for our 10:10am flight to Melbourne for our international flight out to Singapore then London.

We’ll see you in 3 and a half months and we’ll miss all of you the whole time (When we aren’t having a great time not going to school or work).
